How to Use the Family Visa Fee Optimizer
Step 1: Add Your Family Members
Enter the number of wives and children you plan to sponsor. Each dependent incurs a monthly fee of SAR 400 and Iqama fees for new issuance or renewal.
Step 2: Select Iqama Status for Each Group
Choose whether your wife and children need a New Iqama, a Renewal, or already have an Active Iqama. New and renewal Iqama fees are SAR 2,000 per person.
Step 3: Choose Your Exit/Re-Entry Visa Type
Select single exit (best for 1-2 trips per year) or multiple exit/re-entry (best for 3+ trips). A 6-month multiple visa at SAR 3,000 is cheaper than three single visas at SAR 1,800.
Step 4: Set Your Planning Period
Choose your planning period: 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years. A longer period gives you bulk savings but may require Iqama renewal if it exceeds your current Iqama expiry.
Step 5: Calculate and Optimize
Click 'Calculate Fees' to see your total family visa costs, monthly budget, and cost-saving tips. The breakdown shows all fees including dependent fees, Iqama costs, exit visas, and work permits.
Understanding Your Family Visa Fee Results
The tool calculates all costs associated with sponsoring family members in Saudi Arabia. The dependent fee is SAR 400 per month per dependent (wife and each child), charged by the Ministry of Interior. Iqama fees are SAR 2,000 per person for new issuance or renewal. Exit/Re-Entry visa fees range from SAR 200 (single, 1 month) to SAR 5,000 (multiple, 1 year). Work permit fees are SAR 960 per year per dependent. Your monthly budget is calculated by dividing the total annual fee by 12 months, helping you set aside money gradually rather than facing a lump-sum payment.
Real Example
Suppose you are sponsoring 1 wife and 2 children for 1 year. All need new Iqamas. You plan 2 single exit trips: Monthly dependent fees: 3 dependents x SAR 400 x 12 months = SAR 14,400 New Iqama fees: 3 x SAR 2,000 = SAR 6,000 Exit/Re-Entry visas: 2 trips x 3 dependents x SAR 200 each = SAR 1,200 Work permit fees: 3 x SAR 960 = SAR 2,880 Total for 1 year: SAR 24,480 Monthly budget: SAR 2,040 Tip: With 3 trips per year, a 6-month multiple visa (SAR 3,000/person) saves SAR 600 per person vs single visas.
